MacKree is a product of Elphi, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company. Until October 2026 the app was called Elphi. Same app, same company, new name.
Supersedes v1.0 (February 24, 2026). What changed in v1.1: the product name; the relationship between these Terms and Apple's app license; what you agree to share with your family by using the app; notification terms; one age rule across all our documents; a beta-testing section; and new contact addresses. The limitation of liability and governing law are unchanged.
By downloading, installing, or using MacKree ("the app," "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use MacKree.
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Elphi, LLC ("we," "our," or "us").
Age. MacKree is for people 13 and older. If you are 13 to 17, you may use MacKree only with a parent or legal guardian who is a member of your MacKree family and who agrees to these Terms on your behalf; that guardian is responsible for your use of the app. Anyone under 13 may not create an account.
Apple's license. You download MacKree from the Apple App Store, and your license to the app software itself is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms govern the MacKree service — your account, your family, your checklists, and how we and you treat each other. If these Terms and Apple's EULA conflict about the software license, Apple's EULA controls; about the service, these Terms control. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the service.
MacKree is a reminder and checklist application that helps families coordinate routine tasks: one person creates a checklist, another confirms it with one tap, and the people who need to know can see that confirmation.
MacKree is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any medical condition. It is not a substitute for professional medical care, emergency services, direct caregiver supervision, or clinical judgment.
MacKree does not guarantee delivery. Notifications and reminders may be delayed, missed, or not delivered at all because of device settings, network conditions, Apple's or Google's notification infrastructure, or software conditions outside our control. While MacKree may help remind family members about medications, medical items, or safety routines, you acknowledge that:
MacKree uses Sign in with Apple for account creation and authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and for all activity under your MacKree account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
MacKree works by sharing information between the members of a family group. By creating or joining a family, you agree that:
The Privacy Policy describes all of this in detail. You can leave a family at any time, which stops further sharing with its members.
Organizers are responsible for who they invite. Add only people who know they are being added and have agreed to take part. Do not use MacKree to monitor or pressure another adult without their knowledge and consent.
MacKree's purpose is to send reminder, confirmation, "On it," and overdue notifications to you and your family. By using the app you agree to receive them; you control how they appear, and whether they appear at all, in your iPhone's Settings. Turning them off may stop the app from working as intended for the people who are counting on you.
We will not send you notifications promoting features, upgrades, or offers unless you explicitly opt in inside the app, and you will always be able to opt out there.
MacKree offers a free tier with limited features as described in the app. No credit card is required.
MacKree offers a paid Family subscription that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store on a recurring basis. Current pricing is displayed in the app and at mackree.com.
The person who purchases a Family subscription is the organizer, is responsible for billing, and is responsible for activity within their family group. Family members added to the group do not need their own subscription.
If you use a pre-release version of MacKree through Apple's TestFlight, nothing in the beta costs anything — any purchase screen you see in a TestFlight build is free and for testing only. Beta participation is also governed by the Beta Tester Acknowledgment shown in the app and by Apple's TestFlight terms. You can leave the beta at any time, and we can end it at any time.
You agree to use MacKree only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
You retain ownership of the content you enter into MacKree, including checklist names and item names. By using MacKree, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and your family group — including placing it in the notifications the service sends.
You are solely responsible for what you enter. We recommend the least specific wording that still works for your family, and we strongly recommend against entering Social Security numbers, financial account details, passwords, or similar information into any checklist.
Feedback. Anything you tell us about MacKree — bug reports, ideas, suggestions, survey answers — may be used by Elphi, LLC to improve the product, freely and forever, with no payment or attribution owed. If we ever want to quote you publicly by name, we'll ask first.
MacKree is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that notifications will always be delivered on time or at all.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Elphi, LLC and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of MacKree shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your use of MacKree is also governed by our Privacy Policy and, for health-related checklist content, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Both are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
MacKree™, the MacKree name and logo, the elephant mark, and all related trademarks are the property of Elphi, LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without our prior written consent.
All software, design, and content in the app — except for content you create — is owned by or licensed to Elphi, LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may stop using MacKree at any time by deleting your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by asking us at [email protected]. The Privacy Policy describes what happens to your family and checklists when you do.
We may suspend or terminate your access to MacKree for violation of these Terms, for conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or the service, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of MacKree shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
We may update these Terms from time to time as MacKree evolves. When we do, we will update the effective date and version above and provide notice in the app for material changes. Continued use of MacKree after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
